Why did I choose nursing as a career?

When I was in India, I used to work as a dietician in a small hospital. There I used to observe the nurses taking care of their patients. The way they interacted with their patients was really very touching. Even amongst their busy schedule, they used to find time to spend with their patients. Whenever I was in the paediatric ward, I used to love the relationship the nurses had with the little kids. I enjoyed watching the kids playing with the nurse or a nurse reading a story to the kid. At those moments I used to envy the nurse and wished I was a paediatric nurse.
When I came to Canada, I got a chance to change my profession. So I embarked upon the journey of becoming a paediatric nurse. I hope one day I would be able to become a good professional paediatric nurse.

What wonderful story about your dreams of becoming a nurse. I am sure all of us in the nursing program have a story from our younger days and how we were touched by other nurses before us.
I am sure you will become what you have always wanted to be. If you have a dream, don't ever lose sight of it. It took me almost 40 years to realize mine. Best of luck to you with yours.
